Arsenal set to announce Rúnar Alex Rúnarsson on a five year deal

Arsenal are set to announce Rúnar Alex Rúnarsson on a five year deal for around £1.4m from Ligue 1 side Dijon. The shot stopper will be back up to Bernd Leno as Emiliano Martínez leaves for Aston Villa for a reported £16m fee.

In 2014, the then 18-year old joined Nordsjælland. In 2018, the Icelandic left the Danish team and moved to France with Dijon. Unfortunately the statistics don’t bode too well for the new man who stands at 6’2″. According to WhoScored, of all the goalkeepers who have played 20 games or more since the beginning of the 2018/19 season in the French Premier League, he is the goalkeeper with the weakest percentage of saved shots. 57.8 percent.
