Granit Xhaka’s move to the Serie A is way off the mark but the midfielder could still leave the Emirates this summer.
After recent speculation suggesting Xhaka could be leaving Arsenal for Inter Milan, sources were quick to rule this out implying that a move to the Bundesliga is more likely as per Nico Schira.
The 26-year-old midfielder has made 99 Premier League appearances for the Gunners, scoring seven goals with 11 assists. Arsenal value the Swiss international at 40 million whereas Inter feel the price tag is too high and are more likely to approach their first choice target, Nicolò Barella.

TheAFCnewsroom understands that the Swiss midfielder could be returning to Germany. The most likely candidate to take the player would be his former club, Borussia Mönchengladbach, which the Arsenal man spent four years at before signing for the north Londoners in 2016.
Despite all the rumours there is still a chance that Xhaka could stay at Arsenal. With Koscielny heading for the exit door, the captains armband is available and Xhaka is favourite to take over as captain. In a recent interview with German website Blick the midfielder was asked:
“Do you hope to be captain next season?”
To which he answered: “Would I be incredibly proud and would I like to lead the team as captain? Absolute. But I try, even without the bandage as a leader to anticipate and take responsibility.”
